WASHINGTON, DC – On the evening of Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in the ballroom of the Willard Hotel, a group of small business advocacy groups including, DC Metro Hispanic Contractors Assoc., Anacostia Economic Development Corporation, National Assoc. of Minority Contractors and the CHOICE program of the Building Trades Unions, celebrated 'Diversity in Construction' by recognizing 12 construction firms who represent the highest quality of efforts to insure access, transparency and the nurturing of small businesses.
Of the 12 firms honored, DCI was recognized as the 2016 Civil Contractor Diversity award for its dedication to the principles of diversity, minority contracting and small business mentoring. DCI’s President and CEO, Pedro Alfonso, (accompanied by Ronald Watkins, Chief Operating Officer) accepted the award on behalf of the company.
As was mentioned during the event, each of the 12 organizations that were recognized execute business models that produce top quality outcomes that create opportunities for small businesses and generate wealth within their communities. Over 200 construction professionals consisting of both small contractors, construction professionals and large established firms participated in the awards ceremony.
